5 STAR REVIEW:
There is nothing more soothing than a comforting lullaby. The gentle lyrics, often set to a simple tune, have lulled infants to sleep for centuries. Author and poet J.R. Poulter demonstrates the continuing tradition of lyrical lullabies in her delightful little treasure, The Boat to Lullaby Bay. Accompanied by colourful and soothing illustrations by artist Niki Leonidou, this book makes an excellent bedtime storybook to lull young children to sleep and to dream happy dreams. A beautiful book in both words and illustrations. Well done!" Reviewed By EMILY-JANE HILLS ORFORD, (award-winning author, Masters degree, teacher of creative writing), for Readers' Favorite;
ART/EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER REVIEW
As an educator, I know the importance of reading rhyme for young children. The earlier the exposure, the more rapid the benefits for the child by expanding their exposure to vocabulary. This is especially important by the age of three years old. Rhyme also involves words of similar sound but with different meanings which promotes cognitive growth. Lullabies and poems also provide physical comfort to a growing child that helps them settle down and relax. "The Boat to Lullaby Bay" is a wonderful introduction to the world of poems and lullabies with beautiful illustrations that are sure to delight parents and children.
