TEACHER REVIEWS:
"Hip Hop Hurrah Zoo Dance is a story no child will be able to sit still to read - and that's precisely it's purpose. See the animals get their groove on as they dance like no one's watching - especially the zookeeper! What a great initiative to combine reading with physical excercise in a fun, fanciful, follicking tale." Adrienne T. O'Connell, B.A., Grad. Dip. Ed., taught children from indigenous outback to multicultural city classrooms.
Hip Hop Hurrah! Zoo Dance, Award-winner by J.R. Poulter, is a young children's (3-7 years) picture book about animals dressed as people with the intent of engaging young readers to relate to the spirit of movement and encouraging them to act and move in the same ways. Fun and appealing! As a music teacher, I think this could help stimulate ideas in the minds of my students. Young readers will mimic those movements and participate. Just make sure you have an open floor space!
An engaging story [to] help young students get out of their seats and onto the dance floor. Bruce Arrington, Music Teacher, reviewer.
