The Sea Cat Dreams
The most usual version of death in picture books is a child grieving for a lost pet. Here, in a rare turnaround, it is the cat grieving for its master. Here the man, whom the cat is with, is swept out to sea in a storm, and the cat meows a eulogy for him, and for his sea-life, as well.
Poulter’s text is in gentle rhyming verse, and Ulasowski’s paintings are rich and realistic. Review by CBCA judge, Dr. Virginia Lowe, Create a Kid's Book
I am adding The Sea Cat Dreams as a good resource in my new book, The Third Edition of Life and Loss. Linda Goldman, FT, MS counselling, ME early childhood education, LCPC, NBCC www.childrensgrief.net

LOOK ALIKES?!
Toddlers love rhyming books and they love a giggle. This clever rhyming book with a surprise at each page turning will produce lots of giggles, as well as a reminder that we are all different. The invitation to “Look in the mirror” gives every reader their own unique image to end the story. I can see potential for extending the story with mask making and role play. Maureen O'Shea, Children's & Youth Services Librarian, Noosa Library Service
"Look Alikes is a wonderful way to teach children the delightful differences between humans and the wildlife that share our planet. Through rhyme, they are able to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness that exists with every species. It is a fantastic way to introduce children to the early stages of comparison, a common curriculum element taught in Australian schools." Adrienne T. O'Connell, B.A., Grad. Dip. Ed., taught children from indigenous classrooms in the outback to multicultural classrooms in the city.

TOOFS
Co-authored by Child Care/Kindergarten professional, Estelle A. Poulter, the book incorporates professionally acredited strategies for dealing with the issue of "biting" babies and small children.
"A gorgeous tale full of the trials and tribulations of one of baby's first milestones. This book is just as enjoyable for parents who can reminisce about this memorable time."
Adrienne T. O'Connell, teacher, B.A., Grad. Dip. Ed., has taught children from indigenous classrooms in the wilds of the outback to multicultural suburban classrooms in a big city.
